Introduction to Mindfulness Course
In eight, 60 minute sessions, gather with a group to learn a mindfulness technique, followed by a discussion on how this applies to parenting and/or other aspects of our everyday lives. Theresa is trained in the curriculum from Mindful Schools.
What is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness is simply the act of being in the present moment no matter what internal or external experience arises.
How do I actually learn Mindfulness? What will this course entail?
Each week, the first 15 minutes will be spent learning the content or technique for that week. I will teach techniques for tuning into your senses and your environment in a rich and meaningful way. The remainder of the hour will be a chance to engage in group discussion (or just listen!) to how that week’s content can impact our daily lives.
How will Learning Mindfulness Help Me?
While there can be many benefits to learning mindfulness, the benefits are simply byproducts. There are no goals in being mindful and there is nothing to achieve. However, the benefits that can occur may include:
- being more present and grounded
- feeling less personally impacted by the day to day grind
- experiencing more choice in where we place our attention
- being better able to respond instead of react to stressors
- having enriched relationships with ourselves and others
How Much Does It Cost?
